Town Crier

by Daniel Godwin

He plays metal. But of gory sounds
Whole life saddled to obey 'steven'.
Clapping with forged metals.
Barefoot, with order to bear fruit.
Public display seems like that of a husband.
Starved of dinner.
Wandering among his people.
His home not far from the pool.
Perspiration visible.
Sialorrhea in between fables.
Enthusiastic only to the crown.
Cries of families pending with no reply.
When the town is happy. He cried.
When the town is sad. He cried.
Useful and beautiful.
Our town baby. TOWN CRIER!.
