Why Female Folks Should be in the Tech Space in 2023

Statistics has shown that despite women representing 47% of all employed adults in the United States as of 2023, women are underrepresented in tech holding only 26.7% of all jobs in the tech Sector. Tech is one fast growing sector anyone can venture into and this includes the female counterpart. It is the use of scientific knowledge for practical purposes or applications, whether in industry or our day to day life. But then, there is slightly more as technology usually involves a specific piece of equipment, but that equipment can be incredibly simple or dazzlingly complex. It can be anything from the discovery of the wheel, all the way up to computers and other gadgets. 

Technology has the power to do many things and changing the world is one of them. Technology has impacted almost if not all aspect of Our Lives from; Relationships (Improvement of communication irrespective of distance and virtual social lives), Security (Decrease in Privacy making it difficult for hackers and scammer to exploit us), Commerce(Convenience in purchase and sales of goods and services), Education (Accessibility of better and educative information) , Health (smarter health tracking) and Flexible working with the ability of worker to work from home or any location of choice. 

Like every industries, the tech industry can be gender biased, as women get few opportunities to work in tech and also many women get overlooked in tech despite their great feats. Women are also driven out of the tech sector due to burnout, lack of work-life balance and false ideology of the tech industry; at the mention of tech the first thing that comes to the mind of a woman is coding, and Basically, tech is not just about coding but also soft skills and ability to bring new ideas that is productive to the sector. 

There is a need for gender diversity in tech for the sector to continue to thrive, accelerate innovation and to rise to meet the needs of society. Here are some reasons for women need in tech in 2023: 

1. Increase in Revenue: Women have the ability to multiply whatever is committed into their hands, and as such wherever a woman is, increase manifest on all sides. 

2. The reasoning Ability of Women: Women by nature are known for their incredible problem solving and natural instinct of creativity which will help is one of the qualities needed in this space to create awesome contents that can help achieve greater performance. 

3. Helps Design Balanced Products: With men alone in tech, products designed are liable to be men like and related leaving the female counterpart because they think as a man but the involvement of female will bring about female related products designs, products and services making the output from the sector useful to all and sundry. 

4. The Need for Role Models: The availability of female and celebration of female tech leaders makes the sector attractive to younger ones, giving them a reason to pursue their interest and a career and also, see the possibility of being in tech space. 

In conclusion, given the population of woman in workforce and Tech been a fast growing industries in the world, there is great need for labor supply and human resource. Female folks participation in the tech space in 2023 is not just about the career opportunities it can offer but for tech industry enhancement to innovate and rise to the needs of the society. Therefore, a supportive culture in school, homes and the workplace should be encouraged for female children and young ones.
